Unlabeled cable runs across 5 floors
Structured Cabling & Network
5-floor network overhaul delivering 10GbE to every workstation.
The challenge
Complex constraints.Real-world pressure.
Before architecture and implementation, we mapped every operational blocker and business risk. These were the core constraints shaping the entire solution design.
Random outages with no root cause tracing
Gigabit switches throttled by Cat5e bottlenecks
IT team spending 40% of time chasing cables
What we built
A system built for the problem, not off the shelf.
We conducted a full infrastructure survey before touching a single cable — documenting every existing run, active outlet, and patch panel position across all five floors. The survey revealed 34% of active outlets had marginal terminations and 18% of patch cables were the wrong category.
The replacement design specified CAT6A structured cabling throughout, with 24-port patch panels in each floor's IDF, managed 10GbE switches, and a fibre backbone to the main MDF on the ground floor. All runs were tested to TIA-568 standards and labelled to ANSI/TIA-606 conventions.
Cable management was standardised: lockable IDF cabinets on every floor, colour-coded patch cables by VLAN function, and full documentation delivered as both printed and digital assets.
Capabilities delivered
Every feature with a reason.
CAT6A end-to-end deployment
All horizontal runs replaced with CAT6A. Tested to TIA-568C.2-1 standards. Every outlet verified at 10GBASE-T performance.
Managed 10GbE switching
Floor-level IDFs with managed PoE+ switches. Fibre uplinks to core. VLAN segmentation per department and function.
Full TIA-606 labelling
Every outlet, patch panel port, and cable run labelled to standard. Documentation delivered in both print and digital formats.
VoIP & PoE infrastructure
PoE+ budget sized for full VoIP and access point deployment. QoS configured for voice traffic prioritisation.
Network documentation package
Full as-built drawings, port maps, switch configurations, and test reports. Handed over at project completion.
Structured IDF cabinets
Lockable floor-level cabinets with cable management trays, power strips, and environmental monitoring sensors.
Measured outcomes
Numbers that changed how they operate.
